Qurbani Appeal for the Elderly
At Zohra Foundation we provide support and medical aid to vulnerable older adults in Pakistan. Our annual Qurbani distributions enable us to boost our efforts seasonally. During Eid ul-Adha, we carry out Qurbani on behalf of generous donors in the UK for the benefit of those who can’t get by without our support. The Qurbani you donate is distributed among the elderly and infirm, who live in extreme poverty and often isolation.
“So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar.” (Qur’an 22:36)
How You Can Help
This year, Zohra Foundation is working to reach destitute, ageing communities in and around Pakistan’s Morgah, in Rawalpindi. Some of them benefitted from our Qurbani campaign last year. With meat being so hard to come by, they’ll be depending on Zohra Foundation for Qurbani during Eid. Please help us ensure they don’t go without.
To perform the religious duty of Qurbani, it costs as little as £45 for a share in a cow and £75 for a share in a Camel. Alternatively the cost of a whole cow is £315 and a camel is £525. For an elderly person living in poverty, your thoughtful donation will allow them to participate in the festival of Eid with their local community and in enjoy the days to follow. Nobody should have to spend Eid alone and hungry. Please donate your Qurbani to Zohra Foundation today.
